Today we cleaned out our closets. Tayla is so excited about her new wardrobe of winter clothes. And Talia is tickled that she has so many new clothes. (new to us that is) Switching out clothes is one of my least favorite things to do. But it is a job that just has to be done. So Last week I switched out the baby's clothes, and tonight we finished switching the big girls clothes. Now all I need to do is buy another tub and pack them away for next year. Boy I look forward to the day when the girls maintain a size longer than a yr.
A friend told me about a neat trick last Christmas, She sorts her kids toys after Christmas and packs away the toys the kids were not interested in along with older toys to make room for the new toys. Then mid year she pulls out the toys, throws away broken toys and gives away toys the kids out grow. Well my friend I took her Idea and put it to practice. Last Christmas I put a bunch of toys away that the girls just did not play with. And when I pulled out the winter clothes I also pulled out the box of toys. I let the girls decide what toys they wanted to give away and what toys they wanted to put back into the "put away box" And then they got to pick out toys to put in their room. Talia was reunited with the Talking Sister Dolls, and Tayla is in love with the my little ponies. All the princess Barbies went back into the box so that the other barbies could come out and play. And of course we introduces Allie to a few age appropriate toys. She has taken a shining to Fisher the puppy on a string. All in all it was a very successful day. Now If I can just find the time to take care of mommy and daddy's closet.

RainbowMarshmallows
Hi, My name is Shelita. And you have found my blog. YAE!!! On this Blog I will be sharing Fun activities, crafts, Recipes and cute little stories involving my kiddos.
I am the wife of a great guy, who is the head of our home. And mother to three little cuties. My husband and I had the privilege of being house parents to over 30 teenage girls before we decided it was time for me to stay home and raise our own little sweet peas. Although many of the girls we parented we feel are ours too. If that makes any sense. Becoming a stay at home wife and a homeschooling mommy was quite an adjustment for me. At first I felt like I was not contributing to our home, and wonder around the house feeling like I had lost my purpose. I had to re discover who I was and what my purpose was. Because I had always just been what I did. At the bank I was a financial adviser. As a youth and childrens Pastor's Wife, I was a minister. (because the wife of a pastor, does just as much work and prayer as a pastor ;-) As a house parent I was loving and caring for the orphaned and unwanted. So who was I, now that I am a homemaker and homeschooler. It took some time but God gradually showed me that I have come into my most important role. I am the person who gets to help mold these soft little bundles of clay. (Where as before God had always put Jason and I in a place where we had to break up the fowl ground before we could start planting.) I am the most influential person in our home. I am a mother.
And when I am not teaching and toting my children, I love to do anything crafty, have grown to like cooking and love a good laugh.
So, enough about me. I hope you will enjoy this blog. RainbowMarshmallows but the way came from my children and their two favorite things. So until next time, have a great week.
